This instrument is designed to keep a firm hold on the vessels that are being occluded but delicate enough not to bruise or tear the vessels thus reducing the amount of damage done to the patient. This clamp can be used to in temporary occlusion of the aorta to resect fusiform aneurysms as well as provide additional support and stability in aortic grafting procedures. The slightly curved jaws gives this clamp the ability to contour to and seamlessly move through the surgical field causing the least amount of trauma to the aorta itself and surrounding tissue.
